ROBERT J. BLATTEL, CFP®
Bob is the founder of Blattel & Associates. He has been in the business of helping people make smart choices about their money since 1977. Bob's over 30 years of experience enable him to effectively design objective financial strategies, customized to each client's particular circumstances. He then communicates these sophisticated concepts in a thoughtful and easily understood manner. More importantly, Bob connects to each of his clients in personal way that leads to true understanding of his client’s lives and goals and therefore long-term client-planner relationships.
One of the founding principles that Bob built Blattel & Associates on is education. He believes that it is his responsibility to help educate clients and the public on financial planning topics. Bob hosted financial seminars at Lindenwood College from 1979-1985 and has taught retirement planning courses at St. Charles Community College since 1990. He also periodically teaches basics of financial planning classes and workshops at local high schools.
Bob is a recurrent guest speaker for organizations and corporations around the area. He also has appeared on radio talk shows. During the past two decades, Bob has been quoted in a variety of publications on the topic of retirement planning.
He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in business from the University of Missouri at St. Louis. Early on, Bob recognized the importance of professional standards in his field and tested for and was awarded the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification in 1981. As a CFP® certificant, he is held to a standard of excellence and abides by the CFP Board’s ongoing education, examination, experience and ethics requirements. Bob is also an active member of the Financial Planners Association. In addition, he is on the Board of the Cottleville Weldon Spring Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the St. Peters Chamber of Commerce.
Bob and his wife have four grown children. They have resided in the St. Charles County area for the past 30 years. As an active member of his community, Bob enjoys visiting local retirement homes, elementary schools and charity functions to entertain audiences with magic. He also spends time on his numerous hobbies, including astronomy, classic cars, train sets and cheering for the Cardinals.
